“…the LORD is the TRUE GOD; He is the LIVING GOD and the EVERLASTING KING. At His wrath THE EARTH WILL TREMBLE, And the nations will NOT BE ABLE TO ENDURE HIS INDIGNATION (godly anger). (Jer. 10-10) In opposition to all of the insignificant and fictitious deities, which are only the FOOLISH IMAGINATION of lustful people, who want it all without commitment, for their own personal gratification. Jeremiah is prophetically describing what will happen in the last days. …know this, that in the last days 1PERILOUS times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves (a list of 16 ungodly characteristics is given)…lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a 2FORM of godliness but DENYING ITS POWER.” (2 Tim. 3:1-5) 1chalepos: troublesome, dangerous, harsh, fierce. 2morphōsis: not operating normally or properly.

NOTICE WHAT JERAMIAH POINTS OUT:

  • THE LORD IS THE TRUE AND ONLY GOD: I am the LORD, and there is NO GOD beside me…” (Isa. 45:5)
  • HE IS THE LIVING GOD: As the LIVING FATHER sent Me, I live because of the Father…” (John 6:57)
  • HE IS AN ETERNAL GOD: Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even FROM EVERLASTING TO EVERLASTING, You are. (Psa. 90:2) Jesus, God the Son said, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” (Rev. 22:13)
  • THE EARTH WILL TREMBLE: “…His voice shook the earth, but now He has promised, “Once more I WILL SHAKE NOT ONLY THE EARTH BUT ALSO THE HEAVENS.” (Heb. 12:26)
  • THE NATIONS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ENDURE HIS INDIGNATION (godly anger): “…the WRATH OF GOD IS REVEALED from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness…” (Rom. 1:18)

What is exciting to me about these “last days” is we “…know what is holding the man of lawlessness (the antichrist) back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now HOLDS IT BACK (the holy Spirit in us) will continue to do so till He is taken out of the way (the “catching away” you know the rapture). AND THEN the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of His mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. (2 Thess. 2:6-8) He cannot be revealed until we are “caught away.
