[Joshua being suddenly inspired with Divine assurance, requested the Lord to perform the most astonishing miracle that had ever been produced, which was to stop the sun from moving across the sky, and lengthen the day till the destruction of his enemies had been completed!]
“On the day, the LORD gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the LORD…”Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.” SO, THE SUN STOOD STILL, AND THE MOON STOPPED, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies…The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A DAY LIKE IT BEFORE OR SINCE, a day when the LORD listened to a human being.” (Josh. 10:12-14)
[So what did the people of God do?]
“…they put God to the test and rebelled against the Most High; they did not keep his statutes. Like their ancestors, they were disloyal and faithless…They angered him with their high places; they aroused his jealousy with their idols.” (Psa. 78:56-58)
[Isn’t that just how we are! We soon forget the awesome things God does for us! But, o matter how disrespectful we are to our Abba Father he amazingly loves us, and watches over us; thankfully there are those who recognize this fact!]
“Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. FOR THE LORD GOD IS A SUN AND SHIELD; THE LORD BESTOWS FAVOR AND HONOR; no good thing does he withhold from those WHOSE WALK IS BLAMELESS. LORD Almighty, BLESSED IS THE ONE WHO TRUSTS IN YOU.” (Psa. 84:10-12)
[Our task Abba Father is to fully trust in you every day!]
“…by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, KEEP YOURSELVES IN GOD’S LOVE as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.” (Jude 1:20-21)
IT’S UP TO US, WE ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO CAN KEEP OURSELVES IN GOD’S LOVE!
