[Most of us lie down, and most sleep, daily, for without rest and sleep life would not be well-preserved; but sadly! HOW FEW LIE DOWN IN PEACE! Peace with their own consciences and PEACE WITH GOD!] “In peace I will lie down and sleep, FOR YOU ALONE, LORD, MAKE ME DWELL IN SAFETY.” (Psa. 4:8) [Encourage a peaceable nature, and neither say or do anything which has a tendency to annoy each other. Love cannot live; it cannot exist, where there are clashes, arguments, and divisions. And where there is no peace or love present, God will not be found.] “Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, LIVE IN PEACE. And THE GOD OF LOVE AND PEACE WILL BE WITH YOU.” (2 Corin. 13:11) [Please be very watchful to carefully make a distinction between good and evil, for the devil goes around like a roaring lion seeking to devour us! I pray the Lord will show you wisdom, to carefully avoid evil and cleave to the good.] “Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice because of you; but I WANT YOU TO BE WISE ABOUT WHAT IS GOOD, AND INNOCENT ABOUT WHAT IS EVIL. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. THE GRACE OF OUR LORD JESUS BE WITH YOU.” (Rom. 16:19-20) [Those who know Christ; and DO NOT confess him before men, can get no multiplication of grace and peace.] “GRACE AND PEACE be YOURS IN ABUNDANCE through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.” (2 Pet. 1:2) [The one who professes to have Faith in God, and has not added to that Faith fortitude, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and universal love; is blind – his understanding is darkened, and cannot see afar off,] “Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. FOR IF YOU DO THESE THINGS, YOU WILL NEVER STUMBLE, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (2 Pet. 1:10-11)
