“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked (muktērizō: to turn up the nose and laugh at); for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” (Gal. 6:7) Let’s look at some examples of those who turn up their nose and laugh at God.
“…the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and FIVE WERE FOOLISH (móros: dull, stupid, moronic).” (Matt. 25:1-2) Jesus is using this as an illustration of what the Kingdom of God will look like, on earth, when He comes to catch us away. When people start slowly doing things again, that they stopped doing when they started going to church. Then church becomes less important to them and finally they become foolish (moronic when it comes to doing the things that please God). Then when they come to enter in to the marriage supper “…the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I DO NOT KNOW YOU.’” (Matt. 25:11-12) That’s half of the church He is saying this to!!!
“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another. He will set the sheep on His right, but the goats on the left.” (Matt. 25:31-33) Jesus then explains to them why they are being cast, “into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:” (Matt. 25:41) He said when you saw the hungry, the thirsty the strangers the naked the sick and the prisoners you did not help them. “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” (Matt. 25:45-46) “For MANY are called, but FEW are chosen.” (Matt. 22:14)
Jesus encouraged us with this, “Now when these things begin to happen, LOOK UP and LIFT UP YOUR HEADS, because your redemption draws near.” (Luke 21:28)
