“There is no one holy like the LORD; there is no one besides you; THERE IS NO ROCK LIKE OUR GOD. Do not keep talking so proudly or let your mouth speak such arrogance, for the LORD is a God who knows, and BY HIM DEEDS ARE WEIGHED.” (1 Sam. 2:2-3) [Do not boast about what you are going to do, then do nothing. God is interested IN WHAT WE DO not what we say we are going to do!!] “This sin of the young men was very great in the LORD’s sight, for they were treating the LORD’s offering with contempt. But SAMUEL WAS MINISTERING BEFORE THE LORD–a boy wearing a linen ephod.” (1 Sam. 2:17-18) [Eli’s sons were taking advantage of the people and being disobedient to God! Not Samuel, he was ministering!] “And the boy Samuel continued to grow IN STATURE AND IN FAVOR WITH THE LORD and with people.” (1 Sam. 2:26) [So, what must we do?] “…DO THIS, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. LET US BEHAVE DECENTLY, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.” (Rom. 13:11-14)
[It is time to wake up! Wake up out of the sleep of sin (for the sinful condition is like a sleeping condition), out of the sleep of fleshly security, idleness and neglect, out of the sleep of spiritual death, and out of the sleep of spiritual deadness; both the wise and foolish virgins slumbered and slept…We must wake up and boldly be about the Father’s business!!!] “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” (James 1:22)
