“Jesus took Peter, James and John with Him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There He was TRANSFIGURED before them. His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus. Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. LET US PUT UP THREE 1TABERNACLES—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” (HE DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO SAY, they were so frightened.)” (Mark 9:2-6) 1skēnē: a habitat, tabernacle. WILL, Peter was putting these two men (although they did amazing things they were Just men) in the same status as Jesus Christ, GOD THE SON, creator of all things and the savior of the world. He wanted to erect 3 tabernacles so they all could be worshiped but only one was worthy of worship.
“…a cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. HEAR HIM!” (Mark 9:7) Many turned away from Jesus so He asked his disciples if they would go away, “Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have THE WORDS OF ETERNAL LIFE.” (John 6:68)
WE ARE INSTRUCTED BY, GOD THE FATHER, TO LISTEN TO JESUS! LET’S TAKE HEED!
