Let’s make sure we have the right perspective before we ask God why is He allowing this terrible COVID-19 plague to happen to the world He created. Let’s look at why Eve acted the way she did, “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, SHE TOOK OF ITS FRUIT AND ATE. She also gave to her husband with her, and HE ATE.” (Gen. 3:6) Whatever personal reason they had or whatever means Satan used, they directly and knowingly disobeyed God’s commandment which clearly stated, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil YOU SHALL NOT EAT, for in the day that you eat of it YOU SHALL SURELY DIE.” (Gen. 2:16-17) This “death” is a spiritual death which happens when we sin against God “…when sin is accomplished, it BRINGS FORTH DEATH.” (James 1:15)
As a result of this willful act of disobedience, Adam and Eve yielded to Satan and their obedience to him resulted in a change of ownership and also caused the gospel to be hidden, “…if our gospel is hidden, it is hidden to those lost, in whom THE god OF THIS WORLD has BLINDED THE MINDS of the unbelieving ones, so that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ (who is the image of God) SHOULD NOT DAWN ON THEM.” (2 Corin. 4:3-4) Paul talks of these “false” ones, “For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as AN ANGEL OF LIGHT.” (2 Corin. 11:13-14) Paul instructs us about our spiritual freedom, “God has made you alive, who were once dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the PRINCE OF THE POWER OF THE AIR, the spirit that now WORKS IN the children of disobedience…” (Eph. 2:1-2) Jesus prayed a pray to the Father for us, “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should KEEP THEM FROM THE EVIL ONE. They are NOT OF THE WORLD, just as I am not of the world.” (John 17:15-16) I’m so thankful there is no “social distancing” with God, The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit all LIVE IN US, (John 14:17, 23) and “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; For indeed, THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS WITHIN YOU.” (Luke 17:20-21)
