“If then you were RAISED WITH CHRIST, SEEK THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE ABOVE, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. SET YOUR MIND ON THINGS ABOVE, not on things on the earth. For YOU DIED, AND YOUR LIFE IS HIDDEN (kruptō: to conceal) WITH CHRIST IN GOD.” (Colossians 3:1-3) Being hidden in Christ means that YOUR IDENTITY HAS BEEN DETERMINED, not based on anything that you have done, but upon WHAT CHRIST HAS DONE for you. It means that YOUR SECURITY is established because CHRIST HAS SECURED IT. “When Christ WHO IS OUR LIFE appears, then YOU ALSO WILL APPEAR WITH HIM in glory.” (Colossians 3:4)
Does this mean that now we belong to Christ? “…do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit WHO IS IN YOU, whom you have from God, and YOU ARE NOT YOUR OWN? For you were BOUGHT AT A PRICE; therefore, GLORIFY GOD in your body and in your spirit, WHICH ARE GOD’S.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) Your body does not belong to you. Do you believe this? I don’t mean doctrinally believe it — if you’re a Christian, you of course believe that “you are not your own.” I mean do you FUNCTIONALLY believe this? What this means is that YOU WILL FUNCTION IN CHRIST OR LIVE YOUR LIFE, like YOU BELONG TO CHRIST!!!
