“Peter and John went to the Temple to take part in the three o’clock prayer service.” There they saw a man lame from birth was being carried in to beg from people as they entered Temple. As Peter and John were entering, “…he asked them for some money. Peter and John looked at him…Peter said, “LOOK AT US!” The lame man looked…expecting some money. Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you WHAT I HAVE. In the name of Jesus Christ, the Nazarene, GET UP AND WALK!” (Acts 3:1-6)
Remember now, this is Peter who lied THREE TIMES saying he did not know Jesus. Peter REPENTED and Jesus forgave him and now he is vigorously doing the work of the Lord just as we should be doing! “Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles WERE INSTANTLY HEALED AND STRENGTHENED. He jumped up, stood on his feet, and BEGAN TO WALK! Then, WALKING, LEAPING, AND PRAISING GOD, HE WENT INTO THE TEMPLE with them. All the people SAW HIM WALKING AND HEARD HIM PRAISING GOD. When they realized he was the lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate, THEY WERE ABSOLUTELY ASTOUNDED!” (Acts 3:7-10)
“Now as the lame man WHO WAS HEALED held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch, which is called Solomon’s, greatly amazed. So, when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, WHY DO YOU MARVEL AT THIS? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, THE GOD OF OUR FATHERS, GLORIFIED HIS SERVANT JESUS, whom you DELIVERED UP and DENIED in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go.” (Acts 3:11-13)
“…you denied the Holy One and the Just and KILLED THE PRINCE OF LIFE, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. And His name, THROUGH FAITH IN HIS NAME, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which COMES THROUGH JESUS has given him THIS PERFECT SOUNDNESS in the presence of you all.” (Acts 3:14-16)
KNOW THIS, YOU AND I HAVE BEEN GIVEN THIS SAME POWER TO DO THE MIRACALOUS IN JESUS NAME…
