“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to FULFILL. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, ONE JOT (“jot” is of the Greek “iota”, the smallest letter of the Greek alphabet. A jot is one of the smallest things you can write.) OR ONE TITTLE (A tittle is even smaller than a jot. A tittle is a letter extension, a PEN STROKE that can differentiate one Hebrew letter from another.) will by no means PASS from the law till ALL IS FULFILLED. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called LEAST in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called GREAT in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matt. 5:17-19)
Some misunderstand Jesus Christ’s mission, feeling He did away with the teachings of the Old Testament and replaced them with new teachings. But Christ made clear that His teachings were a CONTINUATION of the teachings He inspired to be a part of the Holy Scriptures. It was Jesus Christ (The WORD OF GOD) who delivered the 10 Commandments from Mount Sinai. Who spoke to Moses… “Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers…drank of that SPIRITUAL ROCK that followed them, and THAT ROCK WAS CHRIST.” (1 Corin. 10:1-4)
Speaking of Christ, “I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True…He had a name written…His name is called THE WORD OF GOD.” (Rev. 19:11-13) The more familiar we are with the WORD, the more familiar we are with JESUS! “ALL SCRIPTURE IS GOD–BREATHED and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be THOROUGHLY EQUIPPED for every good work.” (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
WHEN WE READ THE LIVING, POWERFUL WORD OF GOD, GOD BREATHES IT’S MEANING INTO OUR SPIRITS…
