Fear can be a harmful response when we are in physical or emotional danger; fear is a tool the devil uses in our lives to temp us NOT TO TRUST IN GOD. “…God HAS NOT GIVEN US a SPIRIT OF FEAR, but of POWER and of LOVE and of a SOUND MIND.” (2 Tim. 1:7) The devil often used fear to motivate the Israelites to give up or run away.
“Assyria’s commander called out…“Hear the word of the great king of Assyria! “Do not let Hezekiah deceive you…or persuade you to trust in the LORD when he says, ‘The LORD will surely deliver us…When King Hezekiah’s officials came to Isaiah, Isaiah said to them, “Tell your master, ‘THIS IS WHAT THE LORD SAYS: DO NOT BE AFRAID OF WHAT YOU HAVE HEARD…” (2 Kings 18:28-30) The great king Sennacherib of Assyria came against king Hezekiah, who was doing right in the sight of the Lord, with almost 200,000 solders. Hezekiah and his staff prayed and, “That night THE ANGEL (just 1 angel) OF THE LORD went out and put to death A HUNDRED AND EIGHTY–FIVE THOUSAND in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morning—there were all the dead bodies!” (2 Kings 19:35)
One angel wipes out 185,000 trained solders is there anything too hard for the Lord?
THE ANGEL OF THE LORD ENCAMPS ALL AROUND THOSE WHO FEAR HIM… (Psa. 34:7)
