Amanda, Jesus speaks to us with humble intensity, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and OPENS THE DOOR, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” (Rev. 3:20) This is God the Son knocking on the door of our heart Amanda, He could easily huff and puff and blow the door down but He just WAIT’S PATIENTLY for us to respond. When the devil knocks, we don’t always hear it. Right? He’d rather SNEAK IN an open door like something inappropriate we may be watching. He’s the deceiver who targets our mind WITH LIES, trying to cover up GOD’S LOVE AND TRUTH. Other times, he blows situations way out of proportion as the accuser who TARGETS OUR HEART with false accusation.
Potiphar’s wife, “…cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, “Lie with me.” So one day…she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” But he left his garment in her hand, AND FLED…she spoke to her husband, “The Hebrew servant whom you brought to us came in to me to mock me; so it happened, as I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me and fled outside.” (Gen. 39:7, 12, 17-18) Joseph was sent to jail where God used him to open Pharaoh’s eyes so Joseph could be the second man in charge of all of Egypt. The devil can have us put in jail but the Lord can get us out and set us up as a WORLD RULER!!!
