“…those who are LED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD. The Spirit we received does not make us slaves, so that we live in fear again; rather, the Spirit we received brought about OUR ADOPTION TO SONSHIP. And by Him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that WE ARE GOD’S CHILDREN. Now if we are children, then WE ARE HEIRS—HEIRS OF GOD AND CO–HEIRS (sugklēronomos: properly, joint-heir; used of believers sharing in the inheritance of the heavenly Father with the joint-heir, Jesus Christ) WITH CHRIST, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory.” (Romans 8:14-17)
When we get “saved” become “born again” are “forgiven” of our sins, we become one of God’s children, and at the same time we become Christ’s brother or sister (these are appropriate, gender pronouns for Christians).
Isaiah says, “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as WHITE AS SNOW; though they are red as crimson, they shall be LIKE WOOL.” (Isaiah 1:18) Jesus, “…took the sins of many people ON HIMSELF. And HE GAVE HIS LIFE for those who had done what is wrong.” (Isaiah 53:12) Jesus You have, “…forgiven the sins of your people—yes, covered over each one, you stopped being angry with them. You turned your burning anger away from them.” (Psalms 85:2-3)
“First Christ said, “You didn’t want sacrifices and offerings. You didn’t want burnt offerings and sin offerings. You weren’t pleased with them.” He said that even though the law required people to bring them. Then He said, “HERE I AM. I have come to do what you want.” He did away with the first. He did it to put the second in place. We have been made holy BY WHAT GOD WANTED. We have been made holy because JESUS CHRIST OFFERED HIS BODY ONCE AND FOR ALL TIME. Day after day every priest stands and does his special duties. He offers the same sacrifices again and again. But they can never take away sins. JESUS OUR PRIEST OFFERED ONE SACRIFICE FOR SINS (His own body) FOR ALL TIME. Then He sat down at the right hand of God.” (Hebrews 10:8-12)
AS A RESULT… WE ARE FORGIVEN AND SET FREE FROM OUR SINS…
