“If therefore there is any encouragement in Christ…make my joy complete by being of the SAME MIND, maintaining the SAME LOVE, UNITED IN SPIRIT, intent on ONE PURPOSE…
In our desire to be Christ-like we must have the same mind, love, spirit and purpose, to win others AT ALL COSTS…
Don’t do anything only to get ahead. Don’t do it because you are proud, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.
With a Christ-like attitude we will always put OTHERS FIRST.
Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the FORM OF GOD, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but EMPTIED HIMSELF, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” (Phil. 2:1-8)
We must be careful of self-centeredness and pride. The need to be recognized and always right will cause hurt feelings which will ruin our witness. So, to be like Christ we must empty ourselves of these feelings in obedience to God and be others centered…
“…you have put off the old self with its practices and have PUT ON THE NEW SELF, which is being RENEWED IN KNOWLEDGE after the image of its creator.” (Col. 3:9-10)
WITH HUMILITY OF MIND LET EACH OF YOU REGARD ONE ANOTHER AS MORE IMPORTANT THAN HIMSELF.
