In the four Gospels there are many instances where parents or friends brought their loved ones to the Lord Jesus and asked for His help. We see one example in Mark “Jairus…when he saw Jesus, fell at His feet, “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed.” While He was speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Jesus said to Jairus, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” Jesus came and…said, “Why make this commotion? The child is not dead, but sleeping.” they ridiculed Him. He took the child by the hand, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” IMMEDIATELY the girl arose and walked, And they were OVERCOME WITH GREAT AMAZEMENT.” (Mark 5:35-42) We are concerned for the salvation of AMY! She is far more needy in a spiritual sense than this child of twelve years of age, for she is not dying, but is dead already “And you He made alive, who WERE DEAD IN TRESPASSES AND SINS, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience…” (Eph. 2:1-2) This same Jesus can speak godly sorrow into AMY’S soul which will work repentance to her salvation…
