Jesus said, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on EVERY WORD that comes from THE MOUTH OF GOD.'” (Matthew 4:4) So, where does Every Word of God come from? “…prophecy never had its origin IN THE HUMAN WILL, but prophets, though human, SPOKE FROM GOD (laleō: using words to declare God’s mind) as they were CARRIED ALONG (pherō̄: to bring forward in speech) BY THE HOLY SPIRIT.” (2 Peter 1:21)
How much of the scripture comes from God, ALL OF IT DOES? “ALL SCRIPTURE IS GOD–BREATHED (theópneustos: theós, “God” and pnéō, “breathe out” it is God breathed) and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be THOROUGHLY EQUIPPED (exartizō: to furnish perfectly) for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17) Unlike any other book in existence the Bible is the “breath of God” BREATHING INTO US as we read it. And not only that but, “…the word of God is LIVING and POWERFUL, and SHARPER (tomōteros: marked by keenness and accuracy of perception) than any two-edged sword, PIERCING even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a DISCERNER of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12) The Word of God is LIVING because it is God’s breath and for that same reason it is POWERFUL, and it clearly has the ability to define us PIERCING deep inside of us revealing the thoughts and intents of our heart.
