IS THERE ANY HOPE FOR ME?

“…now, Lord, what do I look for? MY HOPE IS IN YOU.” (Psalms 39:7)

Hope Is Real.” Think about this statement and ask yourself is hope real for me? As you pondered this simple question, realized that for many people hope is not real. Hope is one of the most important gifts we can give to another person, THE GIFT OF HOPE. One definition for hope is: To look forward to with confidence or expectation. We must bring the Word of God with all its hope to someone who does not know it is real. When we bring hope, we bring life.

Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” (Psalms 42:11).

We must learn to trust God. He wants us to trust Him. We need to agree with God, that He can help us through our situation. What does God say about us and what His will is for our life? We must not be motivated by our feelings. Instead we should remind ourselves that God has plans for us that are good. Jeremiah helps us remember what God says about this.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans TO GIVE YOU HOPE and a future.” (Jer. 29:11)

Just think about it, we were rebellious against God, most of us lived our lives the way we wanted and did not care that there was no remedy for out sinful condition except one! Jesus had to be a sacrifice for us! He took our place was beaten for our sins and crucified for us to redeem us for the Father!

“He certainly has taken upon himself our suffering and carried our sorrows…He was wounded for OUR REBELLIOUS ACTS. He was crushed FOR OUR SINS. He was punished so that WE COULD HAVE PEACE, and WE RECEIVED HEALING FROM HIS WOUNDS.(Isaiah 53:4-5)

Our hope is IN THE LORD, it is so very important for us to read the scripture…it is full of hope!

“Everything that was written in the past was written to teach us. The Scriptures give us strength to go on. They cheer us up and GIVE US HOPE.” (Rom. 15:4)

Join me in giving thanks for our awesome hope…Bill Stockham
