[A ‘copycat’ is a person who ‘imitates’ or does the same thing as someone else…] “Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. ANYONE WHO DOES WHAT IS GOOD IS FROM GOD. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.” (3 John 1:11) [The word ‘imitate’ comes from the Greek: mimeomai which means to ‘mimic’ this is one who copies the behavior or speech of someone else. Unfortunately there are many examples of evil (ungodly) behavior and the ‘popular’ thing to do is to mimic those evil behaviors. How do we keep ourselves for doing this? Hide God’s word in your heart because IT is ‘quick’, alive; God’s word is a living word. God’s word is powerful when we speak the word of God we are speaking life and power! Why? Because:] “The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.” (Psa. 29:4) [Memorizing the word of God should be a significant routine for us. You may say ‘I have trouble remembering things.’] “…the…the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and BRING TO YOUR REMEMBRANCE ALL THAT I SAID UNTO YOU.” (John 14:26) [God’ wonderful, awesome word is so life giving and inspiring!] “I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I HAVE HIDDEN YOUR WORD IN MY HEART that I might not sin against you.” (Psa. 119:10-11) [One of the methods our Abba Father uses to communicate to us is through His word!] “In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, BUT IN THESE LAST DAYS HE HAS SPOKEN TO US BY HIS SON, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. THE SON IS THE RADIANCE OF GOD’S GLORY and the EXACT REPRESENTATION of his being, SUSTAINING ALL THINGS BY HIS POWERFUL WORD. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” (Heb. 1:1-3) [Remember, Jesus who is ‘God the Son’ is the EXACT REPRESENTATION of our Abba Father’s being!]
