“…beloved, be diligent TO BE FOUND SPOTLESS AND BLAMELESS by Him, at peace…but GROW IN THE GRACE AND KNOWLEDGE OF OUR LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:12,14,18) “I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of KNOWING CHRIST JESUS MY LORD…so that I may gain Christ, and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own…that I MAY KNOW HIM and the power of His resurrection…” (Philippians 3:8-10) So that, I may REALLY INTIMATELY KNOW the Lord…
That was the problem with Moses, he was cared for and partially raised by his mother for the first few years of his life. “When the child (Moses) grew older, she (Jochebed, Moses’ mother) brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses, “Because,” she said, “I drew him out of the water.” (Exodus 2:10) “Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and MOSES WAS MIGHTY IN HIS WORDS AND DEEDS. “When he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brothers, the children of Israel. And seeing one of them being wronged, he defended the oppressed man and avenged him by STRIKING DOWN THE EGYPTIAN.” (Acts 7:22-24) So, Moses killed an Egyptian task master and, “When Pharaoh heard of it, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from Pharaoh and stayed in the land of Midian. And he sat down by a well.” (Exodus 2:15)
In the next 40 years Moses married a woman named Zipporah, has two sons by her and worked in the desert tending sheep when he has his first encounter, at 80 years of age, with the Lord. “Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro…and he led his flock and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. And THE ANGEL OF THE LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed. And Moses said, “I will see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.” (Exodus 3:1-3) The Lord told him to take his sandals off because this was holy ground, now Moses did not know the Lord so this was all new to him. “And He said, “I am the God of your father, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” Moses was afraid to look at God…who said, “I have seen the affliction of my people and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings, Come, I WILL SEND YOU TO PHARAOH that you may bring my people, out of Egypt.” (Exodus 3: 6-7, 10)
Moses certainly knew and feared what Pharaoh could do to him, but he really did not know God! The Lord and Moses went BACK AND FORTH, and Moses said, “Oh, my Lord, PLEASE SEND SOMEONE ELSE. Then the ANGER OF THE LORD was kindled against Moses and He said, “Is there not Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Behold, he is coming out to meet you…” (Exodus 4:13-14)
NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD BUT OUR UNBELIEF CAN SURE CAUSE PROBLEMS…
