“For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, TO REVIVE THE SPIRIT OF THE HUMBLE, AND TO REVIVE THE HEART OF THE CONTRITE ONES.” (Isaiah 57:15) Our holy, high and lofty, eternal God tells us He wants to revive our spirit and revive contriteness in our hearts. Contrite: feeling and showing sorrow and remorse for any sin or shortcoming in our lives.
“…your iniquities (immoralities, sins) HAVE SEPARATED YOU FROM YOUR GOD; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.” (Isa. 59:2) Oh no, what do we do? “If we confess our sins, He is faithful…to FORGIVE US OUR SINS.” (1 John 1:9) Wow, we are forgiven and cleansed, now what? “…if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, YOU WILL BE SAVED.” (Rom. 10:9) “Saved from what?” Here is a good question that all of us as a Christian witness should be able to answer. “The devil, who deceived people, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone…and will be tormented day and night FOREVER AND EVER…And anyone not found written in the Book of Life WAS CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE.” (Rev. 20:10, 15) “…God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him SHOULD NOT PERISH but have EVERLASTING LIFE. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him MIGHT BE SAVED.” (John 3:16-17)
