IF IT IS THE LORD’S WILL!

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]“Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” WHY, YOU DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN TOMORROW. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “IF IT IS THE LORD’S WILL, we will live and do this or that.” (James 4:13-15)

Something to think about.  Some individuals plan their whole life and never take into consideration what God’s will is for them.  There is nothing wrong with setting goals or planning for the future.  Everyone needs goals or complacency will find its way into our lives.  And then we become stagnant.  But WE NEED TO ASK GOD TO GUIDE US in setting our goals and making plans for our future.  If he chooses to guide us down a different path, ARE WE WILLING TO CHANGE OUR PLANS and follow him?  If our stubborn hearts refuse to follow his will, then we won’t attain his best for us, we will miss his blessing, and we will probably live a miserable life.

There is one more important fact about life being like a mist that we should consider.  We don’t know when our life on this earth will end.  We are not guaranteed that we will see tomorrow. Therefore, we must want the assurance in our hearts that we will spend eternity with our Lord and Savior.  I, for one, do have that assurance and that is very important to me.  Our lives will not be over when we die.  We will pass from our earthly life into our heavenly life, and THAT IS FOR ETERNITY.

Can we say you know without a shadow of a doubt that if we passed from this earthly life today, we would spend our eternal life with Jesus Christ?  If not, I urge you to ASK GOD TO FORGIVE YOU FOR YOUR SINS, ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR, and then live the rest of your life for Him.  Your life will have so much more meaning.  The world will even look different to you.  You may even be in awe of God’s beautiful handiwork.  You will find that the little issues that used to irritate you won’t matter anymore.  The important things in life that you didn’t feel were significant become your most valued possessions such as God, family, and love for others.

As James said:

“What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes…”
