“LORD, I know that a man doesn’t control his own life. He doesn’t direct his own steps.” (Jer. 10:23)
What Does It Mean To Surrender To God? Surrendering to God means letting go of our plans, and letting God have HIS WAY in EVERY ASPECT of our lives. Allowing Him to guide our steps and direct our decisions. As Christians this means we SURRENDER OUR WILL for His PERFECT WILL, and follow God.
“O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me…You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD…You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me SO WONDERFULLY COMPLEX (we are not by chance but we have been PERFECTLY PLANNED)! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You WATCHED ME as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. EVERY DAY of my life was RECORDED IN YOUR BOOK. EVERY MOMENT was LAID OUT before a single day had passed.” (Psa. 139:1 ,4, 13-16)
Are we predestined for this plan? NO we are created with a free will, God knows our abilities and our strong points and His plan considers all that. So, how do we find out what God has planed for us? “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” (Matt. 7:7-8) We can ask and prayer this prayer, “Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.” (Psa. 25:4-5)
