- Our Lord Jesus Christ is now going to act as high priest for all of us!
- *He washed himself, put on clean linen garments (John 13:10 as He washed the saint’s feet)
- *As the high priest, He prayed a solemn prayer to God: (John 17:1-5) For himself, and for all the sons of God
- *For all the people: our Lord prays for his Church, all who should believe on him through the preaching of the apostles and those who follow…
“Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now THIS IS ETERNAL LIFE: THAT THEY KNOW YOU, the ONLY true God, AND JESUS CHRIST, WHOM YOU HAVE SENT.” (John 17:1-3)
[Jesus here speaks as the high priest, the second part of His prayer, on the day of penitence, was for all the sons of God!]
“I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but FOR THOSE YOU HAVE GIVEN ME, for they are yours. All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them.” (John 17:9-10)
[By providing them, Your doctrine and Your truth, Abba Father!]
“While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.” (John 17:12)
[This prayer spreads itself through all ages, and takes in ALL WHO FOLLOW JESUS and believe that Jesus is the Christ, knowing that He is with us NOW!]
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for THOSE WHO WILL BELIEVE IN ME THROUGH THEIR MESSAGE, THAT ALL OF THEM MAY BE ONE, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. MAY THEY ALSO BE IN US so that the world may believe that you have sent me. (John 17:20-21)
[The plan of Christ is this: all who believe in Him should love and obey and continue unto the end (for Jesus said, “I am going there to prepare a place for you!” John 14:2), and be eternally united to Jesus, and the ever blessed of our Abba Father, in the kingdom of His glory!]
“Father, I want those you have given me TO BE WITH ME WHERE I AM, and TO SEE MY GLORY, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.” (John 17:24)
JESUS SAID, “I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS!”
Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that:
JESUS WILL COME BACK AND TAKE US TO BE WITH HIM, THAT WE ALSO MAY BE WHERE HE IS!
