“…do not BE 1CONFORMED to this world, but BE 2TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind, that YOU MAY PROVE what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Rom. 12:2) 1suschēmatizō: to be formed just like everyone else. 2metamorphoō: to be changed in form. A change of the form or nature of a person into a completely different one. A change of physical form, structure, or substance especially by supernatural means.
For me this transformation took place when I, as an alcoholic, drug addict and all the other addictive practices that go with that kind of life style, was TRANSFORMED at an altar in the Seattle Church. The Lord spoke to me about going home and pouring all my alcohol and drugs down the toilet. (Which I did) but more importantly about giving my life to Him, which I did as well. I knelt down addicted and got up sanctified, not really knowing what all that entailed, but very soon learned. I got up, completely delivered from all my addictions, MY PROOF IS I was changed to A NEW CREATION IN CHRIST. “…for everyone who is born of God OVERCOMES THE WORLD. This is the victory that has overcome the world, EVEN OUR FAITH.” (1 John 5:4) My being sanctified enabled me to OVERCOME this addictive bondage and by faith gave me the VICTORY to become a new child of God.
“HE WHO WAS SEATED ON THE THRONE SAID, I AM MAKING EVERYTHING NEW!” (Rev. 21:5)
