“…this is what the LORD says— He who created you…do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; YOU ARE MINE. WHEN you pass through the waters, I WILL BE WITH YOU; and WHEN you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. WHEN you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” (Isa. 43:1-2) First thing to notice AMY, in this wonderful scripture is the Lord does not say IF… it says WHEN… So, we know we will go thru some unpleasant situations. When we do the Lord says, “I WILL BE WITH YOU”
THIS IS WHAT THE LORD DID:
- WHEN EGYPT WAS COMING TO WIPE OUT ISRAEL: “Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites WENT THROUGH the sea on DRY GROUND, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.” (Exo. 14:21-22)
- WHEN IT CAME TIME TO GO INTO THE PROMISED LAND: “…as soon as the priests with the ark of the LORD—set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap…The priests who carried the ark the LORD, stopped in the middle of the Jordan and stood on dry ground, while all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground.” (Joshua 3:13, 17)
- SHADRACH, MESHACH AND ABEDNEGO WOULD NOT BOW TO AN IDOL: “Nebuchadnezzar said to them, “Is it true, that you do not worship the image of gold…if you do not worship it, you will be thrown into a BLAZING FURNACE… Nebuchadnezzar was furious…the furnace was heated seven times hotter…the flames killed the soldiers who threw them in…the King leaped to his feet saying, “Weren’t there three…He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed…” (Daniel 3:14, 19-25)
These things were written AMY, so we would trust in God…
