“Jesus made Himself nothing by being made as a man. He, being found in appearance as a man, HUMBLED HIMSELF and became OBEDIENT TO THE POINT OF DEATH, even the death of the cross.” (Phil. 2:7-8) OK, let us first realize, we are talking about GOD THE SON! How could GOD become man and die?
I’ve heard some say “So, God would know what it’s like!” That’s foolishness, God is omniscient, HE IS “ALL KNOWING.” God did this FOR US, so we would know how serious God is about our souls and how devoted He is to our salvation! That’s what John 3:16 (NLT) is all about, “For THIS IS HOW GOD LOVED THE WORLD: He GAVE His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him MIGHT BE SAVED.” (John 3:16-17)
“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is ABOVE EVERY NAME, that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE should bow, and that EVERY TONGUE should confess that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD, to the GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER.” (Phil. 2:9-11)
There is soon coming a day when all those who mocked Jesus, those who persecuted Him, those who said all manner of evil against Him, will bow their knees and confess with their mouths that Jesus Christ is LORD OF LORD’S AND KING OF KINGS!!
