“…the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against ALL UNGODLINESS AND UNRIGHTEOUSNESS OF MEN, who BY THEIR UNRIGHTEOUSNESS SUPPRESS THE TRUTH. (in this age we live in, the truth is being suppressed or hidden) For what can be known about God IS PLAIN TO THEM, because GOD HAS SHOWN IT TO THEM. For His invisible attributes, namely, His ETERNAL POWER and DIVINE NATURE, have been CLEARLY PERCEIVED, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. (the creation of this world reveals God’s glory) So THEY ARE WITHOUT EXCUSE. For although they knew God, THEY DID NOT HONOR HIM AS GOD or give thanks to Him, but they became futile (mataioō: foolish) in their thinking, and THEIR FOOLISH HEARTS WERE DARKENED.” (Romans 1:18-21) When we read, study and believe the Word our minds become enlightened, when we go unto ungodliness and unrighteousness our minds become darkened to the Word.
“Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and EXCHANGED THE GLORY OF THE IMMORTAL GOD for images resembling MORTAL MAN and BIRDS and ANIMALS and CREEPING THINGS.” (Romans 1:22-23) The next step down on this ladder of unrighteousness is that we begin to worship THE CREATION instead of THE CREATOR. To the Egyptians, Beatles were gods, the Hindus worship cows, in the Roman culture naked realistically painted statues of men and women were everywhere and worshiped.
“Therefore, God GAVE THEM UP in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the DISHONORING OF THEIR BODIES among themselves, because they EXCHANGED THE TRUTH ABOUT GOD FOR A LIE and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.” (Romans 1:24-25) People DISHONOR THEIR BODIES by medically changing their sex, by choosing same sex sexual partners. By exposing themselves to drugs and alcohol. “Woe to those WHO CALL EVIL GOOD AND GOOD EVIL, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are WISE IN THEIR OWN EYES, and shrewd in their own sight! Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine, and valiant men in mixing strong drink…” (Isaiah 5:20-22) SO PREVALENT TODAY.
“…even as they did not think fit to have God in their knowledge, GOD GAVE THEM OVER TO A REPROBATE MIND (adokimos: unapproved, counterfeit), to do the things NOT RIGHT, being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication…murders…haters of God…inventors of evil things…without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing THE RIGHTEOUS ORDER OF GOD, that those practicing such things are worthy of death, NOT ONLY DO THEM, but HAVE PLEASURE in those PRACTICING THEM.” (Romans 1:28-32)
THAT’S WHY WE MUST LIVE RIGHTEOUSLY AND HOLY IN THESE LAST DAYS.
