“God spoke further to Moses and said to him: “I am Yahweh. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name Yahweh I was not known to them.” (Exodus 6:2-3) For the first time God revels Himself, as YHWH (no vowels) this is the creation Name of God. (Gen. 2:4), Later vowels were added and God’s name became Yahweh which means self-Existent, eternal. The name Jehovah is also used. How important is God’s name? Jesus said, “This is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, HALLOWED (to be holy, or sanctified) BE YOUR NAME…” (Matthew 6:9) “Father, GLORIFY YOUR NAME!” Then a voice came from heaven, “I HAVE GLORIFIED IT, AND WILL GLORIFY IT AGAIN.” (John 12:28) We need to reverence and honor the name of the Lord!
“I will also redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments… So Moses spoke thus to the sons of Israel, but THEY DID NOT LISTEN TO MOSES ON ACCOUNT OF THEIR DESPONDENCY AND CRUEL BONDAGE.” (Exodus 6:6, 9) Discouragement can be very costly. Its sense of DEFEAT AND HOPELESSNESS saps us of energy and vision. It can keep us from doing what we need to do because WE DON’T WANT TO FACE IT. “The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me (Jesus)…to comfort all who mourn, TO BESTOW THE OIL OF JOY INSTEAD OF MOURNING, AND A GARMENT OF PRAISE INSTEAD OF A SPIRIT OF DESPAIR.” (Isa. 61:1-3) So, we may shout for JOY!!!
THE LORD IS VERY FAITHFUL TO ALWAYS HELP US IN TIME OF NEED…
