“Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” How do you know what YOUR LIFE WILL BE like tomorrow? Your life is like THE MORNING FOG (it is even a vapor) —it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.” (James 4:13-14 NLT)
Please bear with me as we look at the REALITY OF OUR EXISTENCE on earth from Solomon’s point of view, “Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless. All go to the same place; all come from dust, and TO DUST ALL RETURN.” (Eccl. 3:19-20) Remember this about Solomon, “…when Solomon was old, that his wives turned his heart after OTHER gods…” (1 Kings 11:4)
Now, this is how David prays it, “You will SHOW ME the way of life, granting me the JOY of your presence and the pleasures of LIVING WITH YOU FOREVER.” (Psa. 16:11) Then he says, “Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the HOUSE OF THE LORD FOREVER.” (Psa. 23:6)
Somehow David knew what Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and RECEIVE YOU TO MYSELF; that where I am, there you MAY BE ALSO.” (John 14:1-3)
“You must be born again.” (John 3:7)
