“…if I go to the east, He is not there; if I go to the west, I do not find Him. When He is at work in the north, I do not see Him; when He turns to the south, I catch no glimpse of Him. But HE KNOWS the way that I take; when He has tested me, I will come forth as gold. My feet have closely FOLLOWED His steps; I have KEPT TO HIS WAY without turning aside. I have NOT DEPARTED from the commands of His lips; I have TREASURED THE WORDS OF HIS MOUTH more than my daily bread.” (Job 23:8-12)
What do we do when we can’t find the Lord WILL? Job tells us that we need to KNOW that God KNOWS every step we take. Every breath we breathe, every beat of our heart. David instructs us, “You have searched me, LORD, and YOU KNOW ME. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with ALL MY WAYS. Before a word is on my tongue YOU, LORD, KNOW IT COMPLETELY…you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I AM FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. YOUR EYES SAW my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were WRITTEN IN YOUR BOOK before one of them came to be. How precious to me are YOUR THOUGHTS, God! How vast is the sum of them!” (Psa. 139:1-4, 13-17) HE KNOWS…
