He is our Father – We are His children – Always!

“..Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for OF SUCH is the kingdom of heaven.”    (Matt. 19:14)

He is our Father. “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” (Rom. 8:15)

We are His children. “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children [a child needing constant care] of God:” (Rom. 8:16) “Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;” (Eph. 5:1) “My little children [an infant needing even more care], of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,”    (Gal. 4:19)

Our attitude as we start each day. We don’t know (and may never know) what we are facing in the next minute or hour or day – our Abba Father does. When we start our day we need to realize that we (as children [I’m a 76 year old child] needing constant care) are not sufficient of ourselves we desperately need our Abba Father for our sufficiency. As a child what do we have to offer to edify the Kingdom of God? What should our attitude be as we begin each day?

  1. I need to acknowledge that I am poor in spirit that my worth to God is in how I allow Him to be in my life today. “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”    (Matt. 5:3)
  2. I must mourn about yesterday’s failures and unbelief and not repeat them again today. “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”    (Matt. 5:4)
  3. I must approach God in meekness for Jesus admonished us to “learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart…” (Matt. 11:29) “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” (Matt. 5:5)
  4. I must start this day hungry for righteousness “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”  (Matt. 5:6)
  5. God has been so merciful to me so today I will show mercy. “Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.” (Matt. 5:7)
  6. I want to see God at work in me today. “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.”    (Matt. 5:8)
