“…in these last days God has spoken to us BY HIS SON, whom He appointed heir of all things, and BY WHOM ALSO HE MADE THE UNIVERSE. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and THE EXACT REPRESENTATION OF HIS BEING, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had PROVIDED PURIFICATION FOR SINS, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So He became as much superior to the angels as the name He has inherited is superior to theirs. For to which of the angels did God ever say, “YOU ARE MY SON; TODAY I HAVE BECOME YOUR FATHER“? Or again, “I will be His Father, and He will be my Son”? (Heb. 1:2-5)
WHAT DOES THS REVEAL TO US ABOUT JESUS, THE SON OF GOD, JUSTIN?
- HE CREATED ALL THINGS: “For by Jesus were ALL THINGS CREATED, that are in heaven, and that are in earth…” (Col. 1:16)
- HE IS THE EXACT REPRESENTATION OF GOD: “Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being…” (Heb. 1:3) “Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.” (Col. 1:15)
- HE PROVIDED PURIFICATION FOR SINS: “When he had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high…” (Heb. 1:3)
- HE BECAME SUPERIOR TO THE ANGELS: “…the name Jesus has inherited is superior to the angles.” (Heb. 1:4)
- HE IS THE SON OF GOD: “You are my Son; today I have become your Father” (Heb. 1:5)
“God SO LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:16-17)
