HAVING OUR HOUSE IN ORDER…

Hezekiah near death. And Isaiah the prophet, went to him and said, SET YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER, FOR YOU SHALL DIEHezekiah prayed to the LORD, saying, “Remember now, O LORD, I pray, I have walked before You, and have done good in Your sight.” Hezekiah wept bitterlybefore Isaiah had gone, the word of the LORD came to him, saying, “RETURN AND TELL HEZEKIAH “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; SURELY I WILL HEAL YOU.” (2 Kings 20:1-5)

God heard Hezekiah’s prayer and said, I will add to your days FIFTEEN YEARS. I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city (2 Kings 20:6) God blessed Hezekiah by moving the sun back 40 minutes to prove His blessing. So how did Hezekiah respond to these miracles? When Hezekiah heard of coming destruction (2 Kings 20:18-19), he shrugged, “Who cares about future generations, as long as I’m okay?” When Jesus was faced with the destruction of our sin, he laid down his life so that FUTURE GENERATIONS COULD LIVE FREE FROM SIN. In the end, Hezekiah didn’t care about the fate of his own children; but JESUS EAGERLY LAID DOWN HIS LIFE AND TASTED DEATH FOR US ALL.
