“Trust in the LORD and do good…Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass…Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him…” (Psalms 37:3-7)
- TRUST IN THE LORD: We can trust God because He says, “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will STRENGTHEN YOU, Yes, I will HELP YOU, I will uphold you with MY RIGHTEOUS RIGHT HAND.” (Isaiah 41:10) “I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, THOUGHTS OF PEACE and not of evil, TO GIVE YOU A FUTURE and A HOPE.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
- DELIGHT YOURSELF IN THE LORD: Delight, (anog: a source of extreme satisfaction and great pleasure). My relationship with God brings this. “Your testimonies also are my delight; They are my advisers.” (Psalms 119:24)
- COMMIT YOUR WAY TO THE LORD: Commit, (gâlal: expresses a circular motion as is mostly associated with expressions of joy and celebration). “Commit to the LORD EVERYTHING YOU DO. Then your plans will succeed.” (Proverbs 16:3) When we commit our ways and our work to the Lord, He will bless our efforts according to His perfect will in ways beyond our understanding. We should serve the Lord faithfully and then LEAVE THE RESULTS TO HIM.
- REST IN THE LORD: When we Trust in, Delight ourselves in and Commit our ways to the Lord then we can Rest, (dâmam: to be still and wait on the Lord) “REST IN THE LORD; wait unwearyingly for Him to act.” (Psalms 37:7) “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in THE LAW OF THE LORD, and who MEDITATES ON HIS LAW Day and night. That person is like a TREE PLANTED BY STREAMS OF WATER, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— WHATEVER THEY DO PROSPERS.” (Psalms 1:1-3)
