“…the truth, which lives in us and will be with us forever: GRACE, MERCY AND PEACE FROM GOD the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son, will be with us in truth and love…I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we LOVE ONE ANOTHER. And this is love: that we WALK IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDS. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you WALK IN LOVE. (2 John 1:2-3, 5-6)
Jesus taught us that the first and greatest commandment is that we “Love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength…” and the second is like it, that “we love our neighbor as ourselves” (Mark 12:29-31). We are taught that if we say we love God, but we hate our neighbor, WE ARE A LIAR. So, John reminds us that we need to love one another and when we do this we are WALKING IN OBEDIENCE and more importantly, WALKING IN LOVE…
REMEMBER, GOD IS LOVE…
