“A strong wind was blowing, and the waters grew rough. When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, WALKING ON THE WATER; and they were frightened. But he said to them, “It is I; DON’T BE AFRAID.” (John 6:18-20)
We constantly struggle with the “storms” in our life, but remember Jesus speaks to our spirit saying, “It is I do not be afraid.”
“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But WHEN HE SAW THE WIND, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” (Matt. 14:28-30)
When Peter obeyed Jesus and stepped out on the water, with his eyes on Jesus, he walked on the water just as Jesus was doing. Then the devil tempted Peter to take His eyes off Jesus and look at the storm. When Peter focused on the storm he began to sink. We must KEEP OUR FOCUS ON JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD who is the author and perfecter of our faith. (Heb. 12:2).
“Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and said to him, “you of little faith, WHY DID YOU DOUBT?” (Matt. 14:31)
DEAR LORD JESUS PLEASE HELP US NOT TO DOUBT YOU…
