We are eternally blessed by the gift of God’s ONLY BEGOTTEN SON because, “…the LORD TAKES PLEASURE IN HIS PEOPLE; He will beautify the humble with SALVATION.” (Psa. 149:4) God knew how we would treat His Son, “…many were amazed when they saw Him (Jesus). His face was so disfigured He seemed hardly human, and from His appearance, one would scarcely know He was a man.” (Isa. 52:14)
For some reason, our creator and maker loved us so much, “…that He gave His ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him MIGHT BE SAVED.” (John 3:16-17) How did we respond to this love? “…the soldiers took Jesus…and they STRIPPED HIM and put a twisted crown of thorns on His head, they BOWED THE KNEE BEFORE HIM and MOCKED HIM, they SPAT ON HIM and took the reed and STRUCK HIM on the head…then they CRUCIFIED HIM.” (Matt. 27:27-30, 35)
The reason for our joy is, JESUS, as a sweet little baby in the manger, He came to bring us redemption. And this wonderful redemption could only be accomplished by offering up God’s ONLY BEGOTTEN SON!!!
