Because of the lack of interest in reading the bible it’s easy to lose faith because you see, “…faith comes by hearing, and hearing by THE WORD OF GOD.” (Rom. 10:17)
If the devil can keep us from reading the Word, it won’t be difficult for him to turn us away. “The unfolding of your words (Jesus) gives LIGHT; it gives UNDERSTANDING to the simple.” (Psa. 119:130) Not only that Lord but, “Your word is like a lamp that shows me THE WAY. It is like a light that GUIDES ME. (Psa. 119:105) It guides me because, “As for God, His way is perfect: The LORD’s word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him.” (Psa. 18:30)
This is what is extremely important for us to understand, “…the word of God is ALIVE and POWERFUL, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and it exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.” (Heb. 4:12) God’s word is so INCREDIBLY ALIVE and so EXTREMELY POWERFUL, it exposes to us to who we really are in Christ. Even more important than that, “All Scripture is GOD–BREATHED and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
