Resists: From the word antitassomai: to range (be strongly opposed to) in battle against. When we depend on our own ability to accomplish something acting out of pride, we enter into a battle with God! We must “Trust in the LORD with all our heart; DO NOT depend on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5)
Just why is that? Because, “He gives us MORE GRACE. That is why Scripture says: “GOD RESISTS THE PROUD but gives grace to the humble.” SUBMIT YOURSELVES, then, TO GOD. RESIST (antitassomai) THE DEVIL, and he will flee from you. COME NEAR to God and HE WILL COME NEAR to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. GRIEVE, MOURN AND WAIL. (when you depend on your own understanding) Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and HE WILL LIFT YOU UP.” (James 4:6-10)
IN GOD’S KINGDOM, YOU ONLY HAVE AS MUCH AUTHORITY AS YOU’RE UNDER. OKAY, SO IN GOD’S KINGDOM, IF YOU’RE UNDER HIS AUTHORITY, YOU HAVE ALL AUTHORITY. SUBMIT YOURSELVES, TO GOD. RESIST THE DEVIL!!!
