Jacob had 12 sons, one of them was Joseph, Joseph had a calling from God, on his life, to save his family.  He innocently shared that with his brothers, and they hated him for it. Jacob favored Joseph so the brothers hated him for that as well. Jacob had all the brothers go out and work, except for Joseph, and he kept him around to check up on his brothers. One time when Joseph was checking up on his brothers, they decided to kill him and put blood on the special coat he had made by his father and take it back to the father. The oldest brother did not want to kill Joseph, so they sold him to some passing traders. Joseph was then sold to an Egyptian officer, Potiphar and became a slave to him and God really blessed everything Joseph did.

Potiphar’s wife had the “hots” for Joseph so she tried to get him in bed but he ran out of the house as she was holding on to his coat so she told Potiphar that Joseph tried to rape her, so Joseph was put into the king’s prison. Soon, because God favored him, he was put in charge, as a prisoner, of the other prisoners. Joseph prophesied to the kings cup bearer and the kings baker and later on when the king had a vivid dream from God and the baker remembered how Joseph prophesied to him and told the king so he called for Joseph, who correctly interpreted his dreams, and put Joseph in charge of all of Egypt and gave him his own chariot to ride right next to the king.

Well, a big famine hit the land and Joseph’s brothers were sent to Egypt to get food.  They had to STAND BEFORE JOSEPH to get their food. He was very gracious to them… “And Joseph gave orders to fill their bags with grain, and to replace every man’s money in his sack, and to give them provisions for the journey. This was done for them. Then they loaded their donkeys with their grain and departed.” (Genesis 42:25-26)
