GOD’S LOVE FOR US IS SUPERNATURAL–it goes beyond our natural understanding and reasoning. It carries great power–power to heal, set free, cleanse and bring peace. And, interestingly, when we put our trust in Christ, that same power that raised Jesus from the dead now LIVES INSIDE OF US, that’s why we know, “…the EXCEEDING GREATNESS OF HIS POWER toward us who believe, according to the working of His MIGHTY POWER which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.” (Eph. 1:19-21) On May 17th 1972, I walked into my private restroom at work, as a drug addict, alcoholic and all the kind of lifestyle that goes along with that. As soon as I locked the door someone put their arms around me and gently but very powerfully embraced me. I felt an overwhelming love (GOD IS LOVE) that PENETRATED ME and I was OVERCOME WITH GODLY SORROW! I fell to my knees, right next to the toilet and didn’t have any idea what to say, I just know I felt such sorrow for living like I was, so I said “I’M SORRY” and I felt this massive burden lifted from me! I started crying and thanking God, for now I KNEW IT WAS GOD DOING THIS!!! “He who does not love DOES NOT KNOW GOD, for God is love.” (1 John 4:8)
Here is what is interesting about this new life I’m living, the Lord is constantly revealing things about Himself to me, of which I’m so very grateful because I try to share about what the Lord is doing each day, in my devotions. Last night the Lord reminded me about my conversion and about my encounter with Him.
