Solomon got down on his knees and prayed, “LORD God, there is no God in heaven or on earth LIKE YOU, who KEEP Your COVENANT AND MERCY…” (2 Chron. 6:14-15) This verifies the promise, “God has given both His PROMISE and His OATH. These two things are unchangeable because IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD TO LIE. Therefore, we who have FLED TO HIM FOR REFUGE can have GREAT CONFIDENCE.” (Heb. 6:17-18) God wants us to have the FULL ASSURANCE OF HOPE – not a weak and flimsy hope, but a STRONG, FULL, CONFIDENT HOPE – so we will not become “sluggish” or “dull” and turn from our Christian walk. God is passionate about our being His people who have an UNSHAKABLE HOPE. “Abraham NEVER WAVERED in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this HE BROUGHT GLORY TO GOD. He was FULLY CONVINCED that God is able to do WHATEVER HE PROMISES.” (Rom. 4:20-21)
Let’s face it: Sometimes life is hard. Often our circumstances are baffling as we face challenges in our health, finances, emotions, relationships, or some other area of our lives. Even when we’ve faithfully obeyed God and even when we are walking in the favor of God, we sometimes undergo difficult situations that tempt us to question His faithfulness. “This I recall to my mind, Therefore I HAVE HOPE (unshakable hope). Through the LORD‘s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are NEW EVERY MORNING; GREAT IS YOUR FAITHFULNESS. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I HOPE IN HIM!” (Lam. 3:21-24)
