What is the will of God? “God our Savior, DESIRES ALL MEN TO BE SAVED and to COME TO THE KNOWLEDGE (epignōsis: a fuller quality of knowing) OF THE TRUTH.” (1 Timothy 2:3-4) The Greek word ginosko, means “to know; understand; perceive. epignōsis, does not indicate an increased quantity of knowledge, but a FULLER AND MORE INTIMATE quality of knowledge. “For as many as are LED by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the SPIRIT OF ADOPTION (uihothesia: legally made a child) by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that WE ARE CHILDREN OF GOD (by the will of God) and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and JOINT HEIRS WITH CHRIST…” (Romans 8:14-17)
Something we must remember about us becoming God’s children. Look at the creation account, “God said, “Let Us MAKE MAN in Our IMAGE, (tselem: living and behaving like God intended us to.) according to Our LIKENESS…Then the LORD God FORMED MAN from the dust of the ground and BREATHED INTO HIS NOSTRILS THE BREATH OF LIFE, and the man became A LIVING SOUL.” (Genesis 2:7) God created us to LIVE AND BEHAVE LIKE HIM when Adam & Eve FORSOOK GOD and stated living and behaving the way Satan wanted him too, they gave up their sonship to God. Mankind was still God’s creation, but they FORFEITED DOING THE WILL OF GOD.
The problem here is how can a Holy God be the father of an unholy man? In Isaiah’s vision of the divine throne room, he saw angels hide their faces and heard them cry out, “HOLY, HOLY, HOLY!” In that moment, he understood that GOD IS HOLY AND HE WAS NOT, and he trembled in awe and terror. (Isaiah 6:3) Isaiah said, “Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; YOUR INIQUITY IS TAKEN AWAY, and your sin purged.” (Isaiah 6:6-7)
FOR GOD’S WILL TO BE DONE IN YOUR LIFE YOU NEED TO REPENT AND ASK GOD TO FORGIVE YOU OF YOUR SINS. See Acts 3:19
