“WILL, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is UNFAILING LOVE and with him is FULL REDEMPTION.” (Psa. 130:7)
- UNFAILING LOVE: “The voice said, “Cry out!” And he said, “What shall I cry?” “All flesh is grass, The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.“ (Isa. 40:6-8) The prophet Isaiah is contrasting man’s frailty with God’s steadfast reliable unfailing love. He says that all man’s steadfastness is like the wild flowers, here today and gone tomorrow, while the Word of the Lord is steady and sure, firm and reliable, always demonstrating God’s unfailing love…
- FULL REDEMPTION: “In Christ WE HAVE REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS BLOOD, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.” (Eph. 1:7) Satan is continuously at work tempting us to think and feel that because we use God-talk, and come to church, and pray at meal times, and avoid gross sins, we are, therefore, under God’s blessing. But the book of Galatians concerns a group of people (called Judaizers) who do all those things and are under God’s curse. So, what must we do? “Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; EXAMINE YOURSELVES! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?” (2 Corin. 13:5) “THE LORD KNOWS THOSE WHO ARE HIS,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” (2 Tim. 2:19)
WE ARE REDEEMED BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB…
