“When I REFUSED to confess my sin, my body WASTED AWAY, and I GROANED all day long. Day and night your hand of discipline was HEAVY ON ME. My strength EVAPORATED like water in the summer heat. Finally, I CONFESSED ALL MY SINS to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will CONFESS MY REBELLION to the LORD.” And YOU FORGAVE ME! All my guilt IS GONE. Therefore, let all the godly PRAY TO YOU while there is still time, that they may not drown in the floodwaters of judgment. For you are my HIDING PLACE; you PROTECT ME from trouble. You SURROUND ME with songs of victory.” (Psa. 32:3-7)
There are certain Psalms that speak about the spirit of one who INTIMATELY KNOWS THE LORD, and Psalm 32 is one such Psalm. It opens with David considering how blessed are those whose transgression are forgiven and whose sin is blotted out. When we get saved we celebrate God’s justifying grace, because we have been transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God’s miraculously illuminating light and PERFECT PEACE. We can rejoice that our human spirit has been given life by the Holy Spirit and instead of being a slave to sin and an enemy of God, under eternal condemnation, and without hope in the world, we become a part of God’s NEW CREATION IN CHRIST, and are promised everlasting joy in the eternal ages to come.
