The Philistines had finally captured the “Arc of The Covenant” they had no idea what was in store for them. They put the Arc in their temple with their god Ashdod. ”The Philistines brought the ark of God to Ashdod…when they arose early, there was Dagon (their god), fallen on its face before the ark of the LORD. The head of Dagon and both palms were broken off on the threshold; only Dagon’s torso was left of it.” (1 Sam. 5:1, 4) “The LORD was heavy on Ashdod, He ravaged and struck them with tumors, so they said Let the ark of the God go away to Gath, then to Ekron…so they said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go back to its own place, so that it does not KILL US AND OUR PEOPLE.” For there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.” So the Philistines built a new cart and hooked up two cows, who had never been harnessed, both had young calves, put an offering on the cart and turned it loose. “Then the cows headed straight for the road to Beth Shemesh, and went along the highway, lowing as they went, and DID NOT TURN ASIDE TO THE RIGHT HAND OR THE LEFT.” (1 Sam. 6:12) God just guided them where He wanted them.
THIS SAME AWESOME GOD WILL CERTAINLY ORDER OUR STEPS, DIRECT OUR PATHS AND SHOW US WHERE HE WANTS US TO GO AND WHAT HE WANTS US TO DO…
