Am I bowing down to God and His Word or to my feelings? “…the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; WALK BEFORE ME AND BE PERFECT (tamiym: without blemish, complete, full).” (Gen. 17:1) Does God really expect us to be perfect? Well, here is what we must do as we walk before God, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you PRESENT YOUR BODIES a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but BE TRANSFORMED (metamorphoō: to be changed into another form, this is what God can do in us!). The renewing of your mind, that YOU MAY PROVE WHAT IS THAT GOOD AND ACCEPTABLE AND PERFECT WILL OF GOD.” (Rom. 12:1-2) The key to our walking perfectly before God is our transformation. You see, when we are born again we become, “…if anyone is in Christ, HE IS A NEW CREATION; old things have PASSED AWAY; behold, all things have BECOME NEW.” (2 Corin. 5:17) As a new creation we “…reckon ourselves to be DEAD INDEED TO SIN, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore DO NOT LET SIN REIGN in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts…now having been SET FREE FROM SIN, and having become slaves of god, you have your fruit to holiness…” (Rom. 6:11-12, 22) Sanctification by the blood of Christ, is what set’s us free from sin. We how have POWER OVER SIN because, WE HAVE EXPERIENCED A METAMORPHOŌ. NOW HAVING BEEN SET FREE FROM SIN…(Rom. 6:22)
