DOING GREATER WORKS…

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works (ergon: perform a job or task) that I do he will do also; and GREATER WORKS than these he will do, because I go to My Father. (John 14:12) For the longest time I taught that we would do the miracles of Jesus and greater ones, then I read, Are all workers of miracles? Do all have gifts of healings?NO. (1 Corin. 12:29-30) As we can see not all DO MIRACLES or have gifts of HEALING. So, what greater work will we do? Look at the scripture, For the Son of Man came to SEEK and to SAVE the lost.” (Luke 19:10) THAT’S THE GREAT WORK WE WILL DO!

When Jesus came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures. The scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where this was written: “The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for He has anointed me to BRING GOOD NEWS to the poor. He has sent me TO PROCLAIM that captives will be released, that THE BLIND WILL SEE, that THE OPPRESSED WILL BE SET FREE…” (Luke 4:16-18)

WE WILL:

  • BRING GOOD NEWS: Teach/Preach the gospel.
  • PROCLAIM THE RELEASE OF CAPTIVES: Jesus said to those who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (John 8:31-32)
  • SET THE OPPRESSED FREE: to persecute, treat harshly. The LORD is a shelter for the oppressed, a sanctuary in times of trouble.(Psa. 9:9) Trust in Him AT ALL TIMES, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah.(Psa. 62:8)

THIS IS WHAT WE ARE TO DO IN GREATER MEASURE SO, MANY WILL BE SAVED.
