“As I learn your righteous regulations, I will thank you by living as I should! I will obey your decrees. Please don’t give up on me!” (Psa. 119:7-8) Can we identify with the cry of the psalmist? Is there a lack of consistency between the way we are living our life and what God’s Word teaches? I believe one of the keys to maintaining a consistent walk with the Lord is found in the scripture, “as I learn your righteous regulations…”. Let’s ask this question of ourselves, “Are we willing to LEARN and APPLY the Lord’s teachings to our lives? This will require some time out of our lives to read the, “…living and powerful Word of God.” (Heb. 4:12) Which it so happens to be that, “All Scripture is God–breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, that the man/woman of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Tim. 3:16-17) You see, God created the Bible (yes, I know it was written by man’s hand) but EVERY WORD is God-breathed, it is alive and full of power!!!
Paul instructs us to, “Keep PUTTING INTO PRACTICE all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be WITH YOU.” (Phil. 4:9)
