“…WHATEVER YOU DO, whether in word or deed, DO IT ALL IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” (Colossians 3:17)
In order for God to get the glory we have TO DO GOOD as one does it who is DEPENDING ON GOD’S STRENGTH. Not mere good deeds, but good deeds done IN A SPIRIT that comes from a JOYFUL DEPENDENCE ON GOD’S HELP—this is what glorifies God. “If anyone serves Me, HE MUST FOLLOW ME; and WHERE I AM, THERE MY SERVANT WILL BE ALSO; if anyone serves Me, THE FATHER WILL HONOR (timaō: to appreciate, respect) HIM.” (John 12:26)
Sometimes when we are in tough situations we wonder where is God? Why won’t He answer? Maybe the tough situation is God’s helping hand at work. Sometimes the things that we think are bad happen because GOD IS PROTECTING US FROM AN EVEN WORSE SITUATION that we didn’t see coming. We must not be stubborn and choose our will over God’s will. “When I’m in trouble, God will KEEP ME SAFE in His house. He will hide me in the safety of His holy tent. He will put me on a rock that is very high.” (Psalms 27:5) This is what the Lord does to protect us, “The person who rests in the shadow of the Most High God will be KEPT SAFE by the Mighty One. I will say about the LORD, “HE IS MY PLACE OF SAFETY. He is like a fort to me. He is my God. I TRUST IN HIM.” He will certainly save you from hidden traps and from deadly sickness. He will cover you with His wings. He is faithful. He will keep you safe like a shield or a tower.” (Psalms 91:1-4)
